Lego at Singapore HMV (5 Feb)

At Cityhall yesterday meeting friends, while waiting, i walked to the HMV store to check up the latest music & movies. Was surprise that Lego was on sale too. I was tempted to buy the castle brickmaster, well i restrained from doing so, got to save money for the new kingdoms & PoC sets later this year. The Pirates, Castle, Altantis Brickmaster is selling for S$26.95, i can say it is a good buy, i bought the pirates for about S$38 earlier :(

The Altantis activity book with a minifigure, together with Lego City book, was for sale at buy 2 for $20, again cheaper than what i paid earlier.

Check the next post shortly, Salvo Gallo had send me more pictures of his collection, it is much bigger than i thought.

New 2011 Sets in Singapore Update

The new sets are now in Singapore. The Atlantis, City, Creator, Ninjago, Star Wars and Technics.

The new Minifigures Series 3 is avaliable now.

Pharaoh's Quest Battle pack is avaliable too at retail price S$24.90, this is expensive for just 3 figures!

Pirates of Caribbean will hit stores in May and Kingdoms will be in July.

Lego Sales is Here again

Received the email yesterday. The big sales is here again, up to 65% off, first day for card members only. Unlike last year, where I reached at exactly 11am.. and had to wait about 15 mins to go in after the 1st round purchased. This year I will be slightly earlier, probably around 9 or 10am.

But I learn from fellow lego fans, they are going to start to queue at 7-8 am. Some even at 6:30 am. I anticipate there will be more stock as compared to last year, where everything was sold out on the 1st day. It was supposed to open for the public over the weekends, with no stocks replenishments nothing was left. The Saturday sale ended before noon, with a miserable few sets..

Will be there tomorrow, just to check if there are any sets that I want. My guess is the avaliable sets are mainly City, probably Altantis, Prince of Persia and others.

Lego Altantis Activity Book - The Squid Warrior

Was at the bookshop today, came across this lego activity book, get 10% off the price for card member. The retail price before discount is SGD 12.79. This is one of the most expensive figure from the Altantis theme, a loose complete figure on ebay was selling between USD12 - 20 (exclude postage). Just interested in this figure.

Now the book gives an idea of how it's like to have with an army of manta and shark warrior!

The activity book published by ladybird consists of 32 pages for kids, with a poster at the centre, facts file, puzzles and "Did you know?" with interesting facts on squids, crabs, sharks and turtles.

The Squid Warrior is half man, and half squid. This creature has six tentacle legs, two arms, and tentacle hair and beard. These warriors are aggressive, but clumsy. Unable to stand still, so attacks on sight.

Swims at speed of of up to 24 kph (15 mph) and in shoals of up to 1200. This warriors tentacles are always moving, so when standing, they trip each other, and when eating, they knock away each other's food. Embarrassingly, they ink themselves when surprised.

In addition to using their tridents, they use their tentacles to grab their prey and and drag them towards their large, sharp, beaks.

Skipped the activity book that comes with the shark warrior... the squid's head can be used for the zombie figure too.
